Child Psychology

Liz Scott is a registered psychologist with a masters in health psychology and has postgraduate qualifications in critical care nursing. She has more than twenty years experience in healthcare including mental health, drug & alcohol, general medical working with children, adolescents and adults, presenting with a range of behavioural, emotional, mental health and developmental concerns or issues.

 

She work’s specifically with children and adolescents, and their parents presenting with:

Autism Spectrum Disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Mood and Anxiety Disorders, Social Anxiety and Shyness, Phobic Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Body Image Issues, Eating Disorders, Substance Use Disorders, Self-Harming Behaviour, School Refusal, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Adjustment, Grief and Loss, and Attachment issues, Personality Disorders, and complex psychosocial issues.

 

Psychological Treatments Include:

ADHD Coaching, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Behavioural Modification Programs, Parenting Skills training, Family-Based Treatment for Eating Disorders, Mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, Narrative therapy, Solution-Focused therapies, Interpersonal Therapy, Supportive Psychotherapy, Relapse Prevention, Social Skills Training, Stress Management/Relaxation, Family Behaviour Therapy, Chronic Illness management and Sexual Health.

Liz has expanded her practice to include a comprehensive assessment and treatment/ recommendation service for children, adolescents and young adults for Autism Spectrum Disorders.
