Flu Childhood & Travel Vaccinations MMC Belgrave

Childhood Vaccination

Scheduled vaccinations are free under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) and are recommended at specific ages throughout life, with key milestones at birth, 2, 4, 6, 12, 18 months, and 4 years old. These vaccines protect against serious diseases, and missing appointments means children are unprotected for longer, so it’s important to follow the schedule for the best protection.

Age appropriate vaccinations including Flu and Covid vaccination

Age-appropriate vaccines for adults include annual influenza shots, and boosters for tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap) for those aged 50 and over if they haven’t had a recent one. Other recommended vaccines depend on age and individual health factors, such as shingles (for those 65+, or 50+ if Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, or with certain medical conditions) and pneumococcal vaccines (for those 70+, or 50+ if Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, or with certain medical conditions).

Travel Vaccination

Travel vaccinations protect against diseases prevalent in certain regions and can be required for entry into some countries. The specific vaccines needed depend on your destination, trip length, activities, and health, so it’s essential to consult a travel health professional at least 4-6 weeks before your trip. Common vaccines include Hepatitis A, Typhoid, along with routine shots like Flu, Tetanus, and MMR.

At MMC we stock all the vaccinations mentioned above.
